Saturdays are one of my favorite days of the week. Today we woke up late and rested next to our babies Hercules and Penny. The dogs then ran downstairs immediately awaiting their leashing by the front door for their morning walk. We headed out on this chilly and cloudy spring day and we roamed the whole town; David and I caught up while the pups sniffed everythingggg. Starbucks is always our first stop and I love watching David and the dogs sit patiently on a bench [Herky literally sits on the bench next to David ;) ] outside waiting for me to bring out our toasted coconut cold brews. With cold brews in hand, we strolled to the boardwalk by the river to sit on a bench and enjoy the view. After the dogs got antsy, we continued our walk to one of my favorite streets in town to admire the houses and blooming trees. The old historic houses, buckling red brick sidewalks, blooming trees and flowers, and character of this special little city are never ever lost on me. I never get sick of it or our Saturday routine. In the afternoon and evening you will find us at home relaxing, binge watching shows, indulging in pizza and wine, doing laundry, and/or cuddled up by the fire with the dogs. Nothing finishes off a perfect Saturday better than a good sleep in warm clean sheets. David just bought this new laundry detergent because he knows I have started using more sustainable and natural products and the scent of any product musttt be lavender. Yesterday was our first time trying it out and we are loving the honey lavender scent and the fact that it is a biobased product, made with 100% renewable electricity, 0% dyes, and the bottle is 100% recyclable. Crawling into our fresh lavender scented sheets was the perfect ending to a perfect Saturday here in Newburyport, MA.
I was privileged to photograph these two Wisconsin bred love birds in Maine while they were expecting their first baby. Wisconsin people are some of my favorite kind of people and these 2 certainly didn't disappoint. They are the sweetest duo and I feel so lucky that the Air Force brought us together. I spent an early evening with them at their beautiful place (that is truly a photographer's dream) in Maine that is walking distance into downtown Portsmouth. As we moved from room to room in their house, I told them I wanted to take some pictures of them in their bright beautiful kitchen full of light streaming through from every direction. She said that they love to slow dance in the kitchen and she immediately put on their favorite song to dance to- Girl of my Dreams by Brandon Heath...cutest thing everrrr! After capturing their love in their Maine home, we moved to the most beautiful private beach for local residents only. They told me they loved going there for walks and I can definitely see why. I love capturing couples at places that are special to them so that they can remember that particular time in their lives. This is particularly important in the military life since we move around so much. Our time in each place is fleeting and I love for my couples to remember their time and lives at this extra special place. These two have a very special love as you can see.
Who knew that the colder of the two days that we shot would have actually been better conditions. ;) It was absolutely freezing on this day but you can't even tell because these two still had SO much fun together. Dan and Sam are truly some of my favorite people to photograph! They interact so adorably together and they are so creative/theatrical! They are both amazing singers and talented artists who started the Floating Opera Company in Chicago. I should have known they would be so easy to photograph! ;) They took a simple scarf and made it the best prop that I've ever had on an engagement shoot. They can make something out of nothing and make the best out of any situation. They are such a FUN and absolutely awesome couple and I couldn't be happier that they found each other. I've known Dan since he was young and Sam really does complete him. They have the most beautiful chemistry together and I can't wait to share their second session that we shot earlier this summer followed by their wedding photos after their wedding on September 3rd.
Today is my sweet boy's 4th birthday! I still can remember the first time I saw him when I picked him up from the airport looking quite tiny tucked back in his kennel. I swear it was love at first sight. He melted my heart then and he continues to every single day. He has brought so much joy to my life and I love him SO very much!
To celebrate, we went for a very long walk this morning around town. David and I took him down to the boardwalk by the river to enjoy his doggy birthday cake that I got him. He absolutely loved the cake and the walk! We even made a few friends along the way. He of course got another good walk in the evening followed by lots of evening cuddles and kisses!
Weekends with my husband are my favorite anywhere that we are even in Oklahoma which seems to be growing on me this time around. Maybe it seems more beautiful and tolerable to me because this time it's summer. We took advantage of this beautiful day here in Oklahoma by first going for an early swim and then getting ready to head to Meers for the best burgers around. Most of Oklahoma is flat as can be (from what I've seen anyway) but there are actually mountains by Meers and it is quite beautiful. My husband and I both loaded our Hasselblads and headed out for lunch. For lunch we had fried pickles, an amazing burger with all the fix-ins, and their popular massive peach cobbler topped with the best vanilla ice cream. It was AMAZING! Well worth the drive and so were the sights along the way. Another great Saturday in the books with my husband. :)

On their first day of marriage they seemed more in love than ever with each other and their super sweet lab, Bailey! We took pictures in the backyard of Matt's childhood home where my 2 sisters and I also spent days of our youth running around with he and his 3 younger brothers. Being there taking pictures felt so special and strange at the same time because it felt like our childhood days playing in their basement were just yesterday. Now many of us "kids" are married or getting married. I couldn't be happier for the first and eldest of the Grambow boys to get hitched and to such a lovely woman! Wishing them all the best as the 3 of them start out their lives together in Florida. <3
Even though Colorado Springs wasn't my favorite place that I've ever lived (Newburyport, MA holds that title by far), it will always hold a very special place in my heart and will to an extent always feel like home. It is were EVERYTHING changed for me. It was the place where my husband and I bought our first home and lived together for the first time. It is where I became a dog mom to a sweet Great Dane named Hercules. It is where I really found myself and my passion for photography, cooking, sewing, and makeup. I haven't been bored a day since. ;) It is also where I made lifelong friendships with people who are now scattered all over the country and the world. I got to spend one day while I was in Colorado to photograph a wedding last summer with one of those lifelong friends who was also expecting her first baby. These are just a few random photographs from our adventures of eating our way through Colorado Springs.

Fall in New England is just amaaaazing and I think I chose the perfect spot to capture the colors for this family session. These were taken at beautiful Maudslay State Park in Newburyport, Massachusetts. This family was truly just such a pleasure to work with! I really enjoyed getting to know them and capturing their fun personalities! The eldest was so good and patient with the younger two and I was super impressed with how mature he was!
It was also so awesome that they were interested in why I shoot film and the process. As I was loading another roll of film into my Contax 645, Kress (the father) explained to his eldest how film works! So cute!
I also loved that I had the opportunity to get a few shots of Danielle and Kress together! They really got into it and I loved that! :) As I was doing this, I put the eldest in charge of the younger two and he did such a good job keeping an eye on them.
Just loved this family and I hope to have the opportunity to work with them again! :)
In this weird life that we live, I get to meet the most wonderful people from all over the country and even the world. This family was no exception! Jessica is just the sweetest lady and such a wonderful mom to her two young boys! I also loved how much Jake admires and loves his wife. One of my favorite moments was when I was going to try to take a picture with one of the boys on Jessica's shoulders and one of the boys in her arms. I asked if this would be ok and Jake immediately said "Oh ya Jessica is a super mom!" Cutest thing ever! :)
It was so easy photographing all of them because they naturally have so much love for one another. Both boys were so great and patient. Not a peep out of either one of them and Jessica had them both dressed so cute/fall appropriate. We chose to take these at an apple orchard right at the beginning of fall. Cider Hill Farm in Amesbury, Massachusetts made for the perfect location for fall family photos. There was even a Staples commercial being filmed while we were there. I must have chosen a good spot. ;)
Enjoy the photos of this lovely family on a beautiful fall day in New England. xoxo
These two are one of my favorite couples to photograph because they are so authentically themselves and they just adore each other. They also let me practice on them whenever I want and that is truly one of the best gifts you can give me! :) I took these earlier in the summer in Wisconsin before they got engaged at the end of the summer. I look forward to photographing many special moments in their lives and I feel so blessed to call them both family. :)
It was such a pleasure spending two days photographing this beautiful family during Caleb's first days. He is the sweetest baby and was pretty patient with us. Caleb's big brother, Jake, was also a big help during our sessions and definitely kept us entertained! :) I also loved learning about this family and incorporating a few things that are special to them including riding bikes and a little bit of hiking. This was one of my favorite newborn sessions that I have shot (on film and digital) and I hope you enjoy the photographs as much as I do. :)
After watching some blogs and beautiful videography, I felt inspired to learn how to shoot a little video on my Canon 5DMarkIII. I took my camera out on a walk with my Great Dane, Hercules and captured a few moments with him. My husband was away on work when I shot this and I was really excited to be able to send it to him so that he could see our precious boy in action. :)
This was my very first video that I put together so it is not perfect but I had the best time shooting it and learning about film editing so I thought I would share it here. :) Click the link below to get to my vimeo account to check out the video. xx
I have been looking forward to this wedding all year and this couple was well the worth the wait! :) Just like last year it started out raining with no end in sight but then right before the ceremony was to be set up, the rain stopped. We were all SOO excited to be able to watch these beautiful people get married outside in the rose garden at the Hudson Gardens in Littleton, Colorado. The ceremony was beautiful and included one of my favorite touches in wedding ceremonies- a string quartet. <3 Live music gets me every time and these four certainly did not disappoint. The ceremony was followed by a beautiful reception in a gorgeous tent adorned with twinkle lights from the top of the tent. Twinkle lights AND lavender on the tables...SWOON!!!! The buffet was filled with lots of yummy options and was delicious! The spicy sausage in particular was my fav!
I took like a zillion pics of her naked wedding cake and I have to say the cupcakes were not only beautiful but soooo tasty which is something you can't often say about wedding desserts. You will also notice 8 bazillion pictures of the bride because she looked absolutely STUNNNNNING!! The lace appliqué detail, the sheer detail at the top, the train, and omg the veil with more lace appliqué....GAHHH love, love, loved!! She looked just gorgeous and my black and white film captured the beauty, detail, and essence of the dress during the couple's first dance (which I teared up during while photographing on film). <3
These two are so lucky because they both have amazing families and their families really added to the fun and beauty of the day! They are all sooo incredibly sweet and I have loved getting to spend time with them while photographing this beautiful pair. They all hit the dance floor the whole night and had the bestttt time! It was another highlight of my night and I particularly loved watching super sweet little Zaniyah groove all night!
I will forever hold a special place for these two in my heart. They are some of the very best people I've ever met in my life. They have the biggest hearts and are so in love with each other. I honestly tear up just thinking about how ridiculously cute they are together. The way they look at each other is something you don't see often and I have had the best time photographing them now three times. They make me laugh so hard and are one of the most fun and easiest couples to photograph because they just naturally act adorably together. I really hope our paths cross again and I truly, truly wish them a lifetime of happiness together! xoxoxo
P.S. A special thanks to Noa's Art Photography of Manitou Springs, CO for helping me photograph this wedding! :)

There is nothing better than finding something you love that you are also good at. After trying out many workouts and crossfit gyms, David has finally found his passion for Olympic Weight Lifting. It makes me so happy to watch him excel at what he loves at a gym that will foster his development in the sport. I really enjoyed spending that Saturday afternoon with David's awesome coach and the other passionate weightlifters he works out with.
We absolutely loooooove where we live and we haven't even gotten to see it yet in the summer. Even winter is beautiful here and as an Arizona girl who never experienced seasons, I have been enjoying the extreme weather. ;) I have been loving the rain we have been getting and I'm really looking forward to seeing the beautiful colors I keep hearing about that are in, hopefully, our near future.
My husband and I moved to the Boston area right after the blizzards dumped feet of snow onto the coast. We were excited to see the aftermath and explore this beautiful city. Some of my favorite things we did were ice skating at the Boston Common Frog Pond, roaming the streets of Chinatown to find the most amazing Pho, indulging in the most delicious cheese from the Concord Cheese Shop, and picking up a beautiful plant from Idylwilde Farms.
My husband and I spent an interesting 4 months in Altus and I wouldn't say it was my favorite place on earth. ;) I missed the beautiful scenery of Colorado and longed for our future on the East Coast. We found joys in the simplest of things there like long walks in a randomly beautiful neighborhood across the street, antiquing, road trips to Oklahoma City, baking and cooking, and simply just being together with our beautiful Dane, Hercules. <3 I found Altus best to be captured on a vintage film camera my husband gifted me for Christmas. The old vintage feel seemed so fitting.
On a whim we decided to fly to my hometown of Scottsdale, Arizona. My absolute favorite time of the year to visit is between January and April! It is just perfect in Scottsdale this time of the year and a great break from the cold in Oklahoma. We bought tickets and flew out the next day. The only other time I have made such a last minute decision to travel was actually the weekend I met my husband <3 when I decided last minute to fly out to Wisconsin for my dad's 50th Birthday party back in 2010. Last minute trips are the best :) and this one was super relaxing except for the worst Packers game in history ;) Despite that awful game against the Seahawks, we had the most wonderful time just hanging out with my parents :)
I believe that everything happens for a reason and one blessing that came out of staying in the middle of nowhere Oklahoma was having the opportunity to be able to visit David's family in Louisiana. We were within driving distance and found this to be the perfect time to get the chance to spend more time with this side of his family. It was truly the best trip with the most wonderfully special and genuine people. I loved it! Every minute of it. We sat around and chatted, looked at old photographs, discussed our blessings by the firepit (a personal favorite moment), played chess, and just enjoyed each other's company all while looking out onto the most gorgeous trees I've ever seen right in front of the Bayou. I could not get enough of the spanish moss blowing in the warm sunshine. Just perfect. We also had the best and cheeriest tour guide (David's great uncle) to show us around the beautiful South. I had never really ever experienced the true south and oh my goodness, its absolutely beautiful and such an interesting and unique part of this beautiful country. I just couldn't have asked for a better setting or to be surrounded by better people for Thanksgiving weekend and I hope to have the opportunity to go back again.
