I am SOOO excited to finally be able to announce that my beautiful cousin, Jenny, is pregnant!!! :)) Jenny and I grew up together playing dolls and fantasizing about what our lives might be like when we grew up. I just can't believe how fast time has flown! We were both in each other's weddings last year and I am absolutely thrilled that I also got to be a part of this very special announcement! :)) I had the greatest time capturing their love, playfulness together, and their excitement for this baby. I am SOOO very excited and happy for Jenny and Rich and wish them ALL THE BEST in this new adventure in their lives. :)

On our last day in Wisconsin, we were able to reminisce about the day we met 3 years earlier (in Madison, WI on August 6, 2010) while dining with my parents at the greatest Italian restaurant, Zarletti's, where we celebrated our rehearsal dinner. :) Zarletti's is my absolute favorite place to indulge in some great Italian food. Everything there is just SO, SO good and the service is also always impeccable. The pancetta-wrapped shrimp is just divine and one of my favorite things on their menu. The main course was, of course, their fabulous homemade ravioli. It is simply to. die. for. Every time I look at these photographs, my mouth waters and I wish that we lived closer to this wonderful restaurant. Not only are the food and ambiance amazing, but this restaurant will always hold a special place in my heart because of the wonderful memories we made with our family and friends at our rehearsal dinner. :)

i caught a quick photograph of this beautiful butterfly right before we embarked out on the lake. We did one of our family's favorite things on my dad's birthday...took a leisurely pontoon ride around the lake in Wisconsin. We of course took my parents' adorable toy poodles, PJ and Portia. They are the tiniest little dogs with the biggest personalities. :) Little Portia is just way too cute and loves to cruise in style in my mom's jacket. She is always nestled in somebody's jacket, often my Grandpa's. :) PJ, on the other hand, likes to be the copilot and look out on to the moving water. We all enjoyed the beauty of the day and the lake while listening to some great tunes dj'd by my dad. :)

My husband and I were SOOO happy to make it home to our super cute and quaint little Wisconsin town to celebrate my dad's birthday. One thing my husband and I have in common is a love for the water and spending time at the lake with family. :) His family has a beautiful spot on a large lake in Indiana and my family is all from a very tiny town in Wisconsin centered around a smaller lake.
On this day, we got to spend the entire day out on the boat at the lake. I like to say that my husband was pretty much born on the water because his all time FAVORITE thing to do is any type of water sport off the back of a boat. He has been boating since he was a kid which is obvious because he is really good at everything with a ski rope in his hands. Today he got to slalom, wakeboard, and wake surf and it brought me sooo much happiness to see him light up that day doing what he absolutely LOVES to do. :)

After a busy and super fun vacation, my husband and I got to have a quiet night at home cooking together. These nights are my absolute FAVORITE kind of nights! We went to our favorite store, Whole Foods, and picked up some yummy organic toppings for our pizza. After our trip to the greatest store ever, I made the pizza dough while watching the latest episode of the Bachelorette. We then indulged in a glass of red wine and had some fun building the pizza together. Of course our Dane, Herky, wanted to get in on the action and attempted to steal our pizza toppings right off the counter. haha ;) What a perfect Saturday night! :)
I used the link below for the dough recipe and it turned out awesome! The recipe makes two pizzas which worked out great because we saved the rest of the dough for some out-of-town family guests a few days later. :)

We topped the pizza with the tastiest mozzarella cheese (Whole Foods 365 brand),
half a can of organic green olives,
a small jar of artichoke hearts (Whole Foods 365 brand),
3/4 of a can of Muir Glen Organic Pizza Sauce,
ground beef I cooked up with a little garlic, oregano, salt and pepper to flavor it,
and some Sopressata also from Whole Foods.
Happy cooking!
Xoxo,
Meagan

I had been hearing about my husband's family reunions since we started dating and I was thrilled to finally be able to experience one last week in Gatlinburg, Tennesse. I had never been there before but I have a newfound love for Tennessee and the Great Smoky Mountains! It is just BEAUTIFUL there and I had such a wonderful time getting to know some of David's (my husband) extended relatives! :) We all stayed together in two MASSIVE/GORGEOUS cabins. It was great because during the day you could join in on an activitiy of your choice (Zipline, Hiking, Dollywood, etc...) and then end your day with the entire family at dinner at the cabin. One of the day activities was set up by one of David's aunts. She put together this amazing hike with a very knowledgable tour guide. He taught us the coolest things about different bugs and plant life as we ventured up into the beautiful Smokies. It was honestly one of my favorite hikes I have ever been on :)

I treasures days like today where my family spends the whole day outdoors enjoying the lake in Wisconsin. We sat outside with the dogs, knit, and chatted while basking in the humid yet beautiful Wisconsin day. The only thing missing from this day was my amazing husband who enjoys these days as much as I do.
There is nothing better than family, roasting marshmallows over the fire, and fireworks on the lake. These images will always bring me back to this fun night on top of the boat house with my family jamming to country tunes in beautiful Wisconsin. This was the perfect ending to a perfect day by the lake.
